Thank you for taking the time to consider being part of a study that is endevouring to explore and understand a topic that is not often represented within academic and clinical literature.

A message from the researcher

Thank you for taking a moment to consider this invitation to participate in my PhD research.

If you are a South African woman currently based in Cape Town or its surrounding regions, and have experienced an eating disorder (whether presently active or in remission/recovery), you are warmly invited to read through the attached study and participation information.

Should this topic resonate with you, but you are unsure whether your experiences align with the study’s focus, please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns. Assistance can be provided in determining whether you are eligible to participate. It is important to note that many people sometimes do not relate to clinical/diagnostic labels, or may not realise that a potential diagnosis is even relevant to them – past or present. However, identifying with the experience and behaviours outlined in the information sheet is what matters.

My contact details are provided below should you decide to reach out. These details can also be found inside the participation information sheet.

With much appreciation,

Romi Tollman
